About the Role:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and committed Specific Learning Difficulty Assessor to join our Additional Learning Support and Inclusive Learning team.
The role involves screening, assessing and providing specialist support to learners with Specific Learning Difficulties on an individual or small-group basis. You will be responsible for identifying additional learning support needs, recommending appropriate strategies, and assessing learners for exam access arrangements in line with JCQ regulations.
Working closely with teaching staff, ALS colleagues and external agencies, you will play a key role in ensuring learners receive timely, effective and inclusive support to help them achieve their learning goals.
You will have:
- Experience assessing learners with Specific Learning Difficulties, ideally within a further or higher education setting
- Knowledge of diagnostic assessment tools and exam access arrangements in line with JCQ regulations
- The ability to produce clear, accurate and comprehensive assessment reports to deadline
- Experience planning and delivering specialist ALS sessions and producing tailored learning materials
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate learner records and documentation
- A commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and inclusive practice
- A willingness to engage in ongoing professional development
