About the Role

We are currently seeking dedicated and motivated Learning Support Assistants to join our Inclusive Learning Department. This role is key to ensuring learners with additional needs can fully access their education and achieve positive outcomes.

You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to provide educational, pastoral and personal care support to learners with a range of needs. The role includes supporting learners in lessons, during breaks, on trips and visits, in work placements and across wider college activities.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will build strong, respectful relationships with learners and demonstrate high expectations and ambition for their progress. You will use a variety of learning strategies and adaptations to help learners engage, develop independence and reach their full potential.

The Person

  • You will also have:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good IT skills and a good general education, including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Experience supporting learners with additional needs, such as autism and/or social, emotional and mental health needs (desirable)
  • A willingness to provide personal care support, including toileting and administering medication where required, following appropriate training

What We Offer

  • Our staff are vital to the success of our learners, and we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Generous holiday allowance, plus 8 bank holidays and 3 college closure days at Christmas
  • Contributory Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) opportunities
  • Eye care vouchers
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Interest-free loans for season tickets and computers
  • Access to Perkbox, our rewards and discounts platform
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Discounts at the College’s on-site hair and beauty salon
