The Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Lecturer – Lecturer in Hospitality and Customer Service to join our Inclusive Learning department at Hammersmith campus.

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Hospitality and Customer Service programmes, supporting learners to achieve their full potential. The role involves classroom and workshop-based delivery, learner support, assessment, and contribution to curriculum development, ensuring provision remains industry-relevant and aligned with awarding body requirements.

Where appropriate, you may also take responsibility for leading a study programme or course, including curriculum design, quality assurance and learner outcomes.  

The ideal candidate will:

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive teaching, learning and assessment across Hospitality and Customer Service programmes, adapting delivery to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons, schemes of work and learning resources aligned with curriculum objectives, awarding body requirements and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Create a positive, supportive and accessible learning environment that promotes learner confidence, participation, independence and achievement.
  • Act as a Personal Tutor, providing academic guidance, pastoral support and delivering the College tutorial programme to support learner wellbeing and progression.
  • Monitor learner attendance, engagement, progress and behaviour, implementing timely interventions to maximise retention and achievement.
  • Embed English, Maths, digital skills and employability throughout vocational teaching to develop learners' confidence and workplace readiness.
  • Assess learner work, provide constructive feedback and carry out internal assessment and verification activities in line with awarding body requirements.
  • Support learners with additional learning needs by adapting teaching strategies, resources and assessment methods to ensure equitable access to learning.
  • Develop learners' customer service, communication, teamwork and professional behaviours required for employment within the hospitality industry.
  • Build positive relationships with employers to support work placements, industry projects, guest speakers and employer engagement opportunities.
  • Contribute to learner recruitment, interviews, enrolment events and promotional activities to attract and support prospective students.
  • Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, Prevent, British Values, health and safety and positive learner wellbeing across all aspects of teaching.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, self-assessment, quality improvement activities and continuous enhancement of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Maintain current industry knowledge and professional development to ensure teaching reflects contemporary hospitality and customer service practices.
