About the Role:

Are you passionate about ensuring students with special educational needs (SEN) and disabilities receive the support they need to thrive? West London College is seeking a dedicated and dynamic ALS Team Leader to oversee the work of Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) and champion the success of our SEN learners.
As an ALS Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in supporting learners with SEN by leading and coordinating high-quality additional learning support. You will work closely with the SENCo to ensure effective implementation of Educational Health Care Plans (EHCPs), manage LSAs, and foster a culture of high expectations and success for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the SENCo in managing additional learning support for Foundation Learning and mainstream provision.
  • Oversee the delivery and quality assurance of EHCP provisions.
  • Line manage a team of campus-based LSAs (Scale 4).
  • Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to meet individual learner needs.
  • Use data to identify underachievement and implement targeted interventions.
  • Assist with applications for Exam Access Arrangements and maintain accurate records.
  • Act as the first point of contact for ALS inquiries and deputize for the SENCo when required.
  • Monitor learner progress and support annual reviews and parental meetings.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, safeguarding, and high expectations.
