About the role:
We are seeking an Inclusive Learning Lecturer to support our Inclusive Learning department. The wellbeing and safeguarding of our learners are essential and as an Inclusive Learning Lecturer, the role involves providing education, training and skills development within a safe environment. If you are passionate, caring and enthusiastic about teaching, we would love to hear from you.
The role involves delivering project-based literacy and numeracy through social enterprise mini-business ventures, enrichment activities, and preparation for work experience, focusing on OCN units at the Entry level. As well as the vocational and practical aspects of the Digital Skills course, emphasis will be placed on developing students' independence and confidence. Students follow the Functional Skills or RARPA programme) for Maths and English.
The appointed candidate will ensure our Special Education Needs and Disability learners are supported throughout their entire study cycle with West London College. You will be supported by an experienced Manager and work closely with colleagues to provide the best service and experience to our learners.
The successful candidate will need experience in teaching learners with severe learning and communication difficulties, learners with ASD and who may be non-verbal. They will have experience in managing and creating professional relationships with the learner’s parents/carers, external agencies, and the Head and Deputy Head of Department. Experience in managing multiple projects, accurate record keeping, handling of sensitive information and upholding confidentiality are also essential.
