About the role:
As the Head of Exams & MIS, you will proactively lead the quality assurance and operational management of the College’s examinations and assessments, ensuring processes and practices adhere to internal standards and external requirements. You will be responsible for updating policies and practices and continuously reviewing and updating examination systems to ensure the highest service is provided to our students and curriculum staff.

You will lead the team in using our software systems, ensuring systems and processes are efficient and effective whilst providing training to academic and support staff on using all college exam systems.

Managing a team of exam officers and invigilators, you will provide the highest-quality information and guidance, delivering an outstanding examination service that meets and exceeds quality standards and service level agreements. Working closely with colleagues, you will ensure that all qualification, examination, and achievement data are accurate and evidence is available to meet all audit requirements. You would assist the Director of MIS with funding and compliance matters to ensure the College complies with all regulatory requirements.

The Person:
With a proven track record of success in an FE environment coupled with an excellent understanding of Awarding Body and JCQ regulations, you will have the outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills required to ensure service provision. You will demonstrate an outstanding track record of working within exams, evidenced by successful outcomes and achievements.

In addition, you will have:

• Significant experience working in an Exams office with a wide variety of qualification types

• Knowledge of funding rules and requirements

• Excellent IT skills

• Detailed knowledge of examination regulations

• High-level communication skills

• Demonstrable experience in supervising or managing a team

• A relevant professional qualification is desirable
