About the role
We are seeking an inspiring Art & Design Lecturer to join our IT Digital & Creative Department at our Ealing Campus.
In this role, you will play a key part in delivering engaging and innovative teaching across a range of Art & Design courses from Level 1 to Level 3, helping students develop both practical and theoretical creative skills.
You will contribute to the development of students’ artistic abilities while supporting their academic progress and personal development.
In this role, you will:
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons across a range of vocational Art & Design courses (Levels 1–3).
- Teach a variety of practical and theoretical Art & Design skills, including drawing, painting, 3D design, photography and art history.
- Develop and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans and learning materials that support student achievement.
- Provide personal tutoring and pastoral support to learners, helping them succeed in their studies.
- Monitor student progress and intervene where necessary to support achievement, attendance and assignment completion.
- Maintain accurate records including registers, tracking documentation, reviews and student references.
- Participate in course evaluation, quality assurance processes and internal verification activities.
- Contribute to curriculum development within the IT Digital & Creative department.
- Ensure all practical activities are delivered in line with health and safety procedures.
- Participate in student recruitment activities, including interviews, open days and taster sessions.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
About you
We are looking for a lecturer with strong Art & Design subject expertise, creative teaching skills and the ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds.
The successful candidate will have experience teaching both practical studio-based and theoretical aspects of Art & Design, alongside a strong commitment to student support and inclusive learning.
You will ideally have experience teaching UAL Art & Design qualifications, along with knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software.
A relevant degree in Art & Design (or a related subject) is essential, along with a teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to achieve one in line with statutory requirements.
